Steel production process
Steel production starts with extracting iron ore from the ground, which is then processed in a blast furnace along with coke (a fuel) and limestone. The heat and chemical reactions remove impurities, producing molten iron. This molten iron is transferred to a converter where controlled air blows oxidize impurities, turning it into steel. Sometimes, additional elements like carbon or alloys are added to achieve desired properties. The molten steel is then poured into molds or rolled into slabs, sheets, or other shapes and cooled. This process transforms raw materials into versatile steel used in construction, transportation, and manufacturing.
