Steam Greenlight

Steam Greenlight was a platform feature that allowed the Steam community to help select new games for distribution. Developers would submit their games for approval, and users could vote on which titles they found promising. High-voted games gained entry onto Steam’s store, providing developers with exposure and feedback. Launched in 2012 and replaced in 2017 by Steam Direct, Greenlight aimed to democratize game publishing, giving independent developers a chance to showcase their work beyond traditional publishing channels.
