STDs

Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) are infections transmitted primarily through sexual contact, including vaginal, oral, and anal sex. They can be caused by bacteria, viruses, or parasites. Common STDs include chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, herpes, HIV, and human papillomavirus (HPV). Many STDs can be asymptomatic, meaning they show no symptoms but still cause health problems if untreated. Prevention methods include using condoms, getting vaccinated (like HPV and hepatitis vaccines), and regular testing. Early diagnosis and treatment are important to reduce complications and prevent spreading the infection to others.
