Stay Relief Motion

A Stay Relief Motion is a legal request made in bankruptcy or other court proceedings. It asks the court to lift, or “stay,” an automatic hold on certain actions or processes, like foreclosure or repossession of property, that a debtor is facing due to bankruptcy. Essentially, it allows creditors to continue or resume their efforts to collect debts or take back property. This motion is often filed when creditors believe they have a good reason to proceed despite the debtor's bankruptcy protections, and the court will consider the arguments from both sides before making a decision.
