Statutory Homicide

Statutory homicide refers to a legal concept where a person is charged with homicide (the unlawful killing of another) even when the act may not appear to be intentional or premeditated. This often arises in cases involving specific laws that hold individuals accountable for deaths that occur during the commission of certain felonies or due to reckless behavior, regardless of intent to kill. Essentially, if actions lead to someone's death, even without malicious intent, the law may still regard it as a form of homicide, holding the responsible party liable under specific statutes.
