Status and Role

A status refers to a person's social position or standing within a society, such as being a teacher, parent, or CEO. It reflects one's recognized place in a social hierarchy. A role, on the other hand, is the behavior, responsibilities, and expectations associated with that status. For example, if your status is "teacher," your role involves teaching students, preparing lessons, and assessing progress. Essentially, status is your position in society, while role defines what you do because of that position. Both work together to organize social interactions and responsibilities.
