Statistical moments

Statistical moments are measures that describe the shape and characteristics of a data set. The first moment (mean) indicates the average value. The second moment relates to the data's spread or variability, known as variance. The third moment measures asymmetry or skewness, showing if data leans more to one side. The fourth moment assesses how peaked or flat the data distribution is, called kurtosis. Together, moments provide a comprehensive summary of data's distribution, helping us understand its center, spread, and shape.
