Statistical Association
Statistical association refers to a relationship or connection between two variables where changes in one tend to correspond with changes in the other. It indicates that the two variables are linked in some way, but it does not necessarily mean one causes the other. For example, an increase in exercise might be associated with better health. Associations can be positive (both increase together), negative (one increases while the other decreases), or neutral. Recognizing associations helps researchers identify patterns and possible areas for further investigation, but establishing causation requires more rigorous analysis.
