static perimetry
Static perimetry is a test used to measure your visual field, or the total area you can see when looking straight ahead. During the test, you sit in front of a screen and fixate on a central point. Lights of different brightnesses appear in various areas of your peripheral vision, and you indicate when you see each one. This helps doctors identify any blind spots or areas with reduced sensitivity, which can indicate eye or nerve problems such as glaucoma or neurological issues. Static perimetry provides detailed mapping of your visual field to assist in diagnosis and monitoring of eye health.
