States Parties to UNCLOS

States Parties to UNCLOS are countries that have formally agreed to the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea by ratifying or acceding to it. This international treaty establishes rules for how nations use and manage the world's oceans, including freedoms for navigation, rights to resources, and marine protection. By becoming States Parties, countries commit to abide by UNCLOS's provisions, cooperate with others on maritime issues, and participate in its institutions. Currently, over 160 countries and the European Union are States Parties, making UNCLOS the main legal framework governing ocean-related activities worldwide.
