Statehood of Wyoming
Wyoming became the 44th state of the United States on July 10, 1890. It was originally part of the territory acquired through the Louisiana Purchase and later, the Oregon Territory. Wyoming is notable for being the first state to grant women the right to vote in 1869, which played a significant role in its statehood discussions. The state's vast landscapes, including mountains and plains, contributed to its development and settlement. Becoming a state allowed Wyoming to establish its own government and play a role in national affairs, contributing to the overall growth and expansion of the United States.
