State Planning Organization (Iran)

The State Planning Organization of Iran was a government agency responsible for developing and coordinating the country’s economic development plans. Its role was to analyze economic data, set sustainable growth targets, allocate resources, and ensure that government policies aligned with national priorities. The organization aimed to promote balanced development, reduce disparities, and support long-term economic stability. It played a key role in guiding Iran’s economic strategy, especially during the implementation of multi-year plans. Since 2011, many of its functions have been integrated into other institutions, but historically, it served as the central body for planning and economic policymaking in Iran.
