State of Yan

The State of Yan was an ancient Chinese kingdom during the Warring States period (475–221 BCE). Located in what is now northern China, it was one of several competing states vying for dominance. Yan was known for its strong military, diverse culture, and strategic location near other major states like Qi and Qin. Over time, Yan fought to maintain independence amid internal struggles and external pressures. Its prominence declined as Qin eventually unified China, ending the Warring States period. Yan's history reflects the complex political and military dynamics of early Chinese civilization.
