State of Rhode Island
Rhode Island is the smallest U.S. state, located in the New England region, bordered by Connecticut to the west, Massachusetts to the north and east, and the Atlantic Ocean to the south. Despite its small size, it has a rich history as the first European settlement in New England and was the last of the original thirteen colonies to become a state in 1790. Known for its maritime heritage, vibrant coastal communities, and such cities as Providence, it offers a blend of historic charm and modern culture. Its economy historically centered on shipping, manufacturing, and textiles, now diversified into education, healthcare, and technology sectors.
