State Legislative Sessions
State legislative sessions are designated periods during which state lawmakers meet to discuss, debate, and make decisions on laws and policies that affect their state. These sessions can be annual, biennial, or follow a specific schedule set by the state constitution. During these times, legislators introduce bills, hold hearings, and vote on proposed laws. The purpose is to govern effectively, address state issues, and implement policies to benefit residents. Outside these sessions, many legislators return to their communities, while some states have mechanisms for special sessions to address urgent matters.
