Starship SN8

Starship SN8 was a prototype spacecraft developed by SpaceX to test advanced features of their reusable rocket system. It was designed to carry humans and cargo to destinations like Mars. SN8 was about 165 feet tall, with large wings called aerobrakes for controlled descent. In December 2020, SN8 conducted a high-altitude test flight, reaching around 12.5 km (8 miles). It performed a controlled fall and attempted a landing, but a fire shortly after landing prevented reuse. This test provided valuable data to improve Starship’s design and flight capabilities for future missions.
