Stanton Drew Stone Circles
Stanton Drew Stone Circles, located in southwest England, are a prehistoric site dating back around 4,000 years. They consist of three main circular arrangements of large standing stones, built during the late Neolithic or early Bronze Age. The largest circle, known as the Great Circle, is about 113 meters in diameter and features over 80 stones. These stone circles likely served ceremonial or religious purposes, possibly related to astronomical observations or communal gatherings. They are among the largest megalithic complexes in Britain and offer valuable insights into prehistoric ritual practices.
