The Standard Atmosphere is a reference model that describes how air's temperature, pressure, and density change with altitude. While actual conditions vary with weather and location, the standard atmosphere offers an average, idealized profile, mainly based on conditions near sea level up to about 86 km in altitude. This helps ensure consistency and safety in aviation, aerospace, and meteorology.
