Stalker Inquiry

The Stalker Inquiry was an investigation conducted in Northern Ireland during the early 1980s into allegations that security forces, particularly the police, were involved in, or aware of, wrongful killings and misconduct related to the "stalker" murders and other incidents. It aimed to uncover whether certain actions or cover-ups occurred within the security services during the conflict. The inquiry revealed serious concerns about abuses of power, misconduct, and potential collusion, leading to significant public and political debate about accountability and justice in a highly sensitive and complex security situation.
