Stakeholder Salience Model

The Stakeholder Salience Model helps organizations identify which groups or individuals (stakeholders) matter most in their decision-making. It considers three key factors: power (ability to influence), legitimacy (stakeholder’s claim or interest), and urgency (timeliness of their concern). Stakeholders are prioritized based on how many of these factors they possess. Those with all three are most salient and require immediate attention, while those with fewer factors may need less focus. This model guides organizations in managing relationships and resources effectively, ensuring important stakeholders’ concerns are addressed appropriately.
