Stagnation Theory
Stagnation Theory suggests that advancements in science and technology tend to encounter periods of slow or no growth after significant progress. Basically, breakthroughs often lead to a phase where further innovations become harder or less frequent, causing the overall pace of development to stagnate temporarily. This can happen because earlier innovations solve many problems, leaving fewer low-hanging fruits for scientists and inventors. Over time, this stagnation may prompt a new wave of creativity and breakthroughs, but in the short term, progress appears to slow down, leading to periods of technological and economic stagnation.
