Staging System
A staging system is a way doctors classify how advanced a disease, like cancer, is. It looks at factors such as the size of the tumor, whether the cancer has spread nearby or to other parts of the body, and specific characteristics of the disease. Staging helps determine prognosis and guides treatment options. Typically, stages range from I (early, localized) to IV (advanced, spread to distant sites), providing a standardized method for assessing severity and planning appropriate care.
