Staged Excision

Staged excision is a technique used in Mohs micrographic surgery, primarily for treating skin cancer. In this process, the surgeon removes a thin layer of cancerous skin and immediately examines it under a microscope to check for any remaining cancer cells. If necessary, they remove another layer, repeating this until no cancer is detected.
