Stage 3 (implantation)

Stage 3, or implantation, occurs when a fertilized egg attaches itself to the lining of the uterus. This process typically happens about 6 to 10 days after fertilization. The embryo embeds into the uterine lining, where it will receive nutrients and support for growth. Proper implantation is essential for pregnancy to begin; if it doesn't occur or is early disrupted, pregnancy may not develop. This stage marks the transition from fertilization to pregnancy, integrating the embryo into the mother’s body to continue developing into a fetus.
