
St. Vladimir
St. Vladimir, also known as Vladimir the Great, was a 10th-century ruler of Kievan Rus’ who is credited with unifying and expanding the region. He is most famous for converting his people to Christianity around 988 AD, which helped establish Christianity as the dominant faith and aligned Kievan Rus’ with Byzantine culture and influence. His leadership helped shape the historical and religious foundation of Eastern Slavic nations.
