Stéphane Charbonnier (Charb)
Stéphane Charbonnier, known as Charb, was a French journalist and cartoonist, best known as the editor of the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo. He used humor and provocative drawings to challenge authority, religious figures, and social issues, aiming to promote free expression. Charb embraced the right to criticize without fear. Tragically, he was killed in the 2015 terrorist attack on Charlie Hebdo’s office, which targeted those defending free speech. His work symbolizes the importance of satire and the ongoing fight against censorship and extremism.
