
St. Oswald of Worcester
St. Oswald of Worcester (c. 920–992) was a prominent Anglo-Saxon monk and bishop who played a key role in church reform and the religious strengthening of 10th-century England. As Bishop of Worcester and later Archbishop of York, he worked to improve monastic discipline, promote learning, and encourage cooperation among monasteries. Oswald was instrumental in establishing new religious communities and restoring older ones, helping to renew spiritual life across the region. Celebrated as a model of piety and reform, he was canonized after his death for his dedication to strengthening the church and fostering education.
