
St. Oliver Plunkett
St. Oliver Plunkett was a 17th-century Irish Catholic archbishop and martyr who bravely defended his faith during a time of religious persecution in Ireland and England. Despite facing false charges and imprisonment, he remained committed to his church and community. He was executed in 1681, becoming the first Catholic martyr to die in England after the Reformation. Canonized as a saint in 1975, he is remembered for his unwavering faith, dedication, and role as a symbol of religious perseverance and resilience.
