St. Mark's Campanile
St. Mark's Campanile is the iconic bell tower of Venice's St. Mark's Square, standing about 98.6 meters (323 feet) tall. Originally built in the 9th century and rebuilt several times, it serves as both a lighthouse and a landmark. Its Renaissance-style architecture features a brick structure topped with a pyramidal spire and a golden weathervane shaped like the archangel Gabriel. Visitors can take an elevator to the top for panoramic views of Venice and the surrounding lagoon. The campanile's striking simplicity and historical significance make it a symbol of Venice’s rich cultural heritage.
