St. Kateri Tekakwitha
St. Kateri Tekakwitha, known as the "Lily of the Mohawks," was a Native American woman from the early 17th century who converted to Christianity and dedicated her life to faith and service. Born around 1656 in what is now New York, she faced cultural challenges and hardships but remained devoted to her beliefs. Recognized for her piety, humility, and love for God, she was canonized as a saint in 2012. She is celebrated as the first Native American saint and a symbol of faith, resilience, and harmony between her indigenous roots and Christian faith.
