St. Irenaeus

St. Irenaeus was a Christian bishop in the 2nd century, known for defending and clarifying Christian teachings during early church debates. He emphasized that Jesus Christ is both fully divine and fully human, and he highlighted the importance of staying true to the Apostle’s teachings. Irenaeus also wrote “Against Heresies,” a work aimed at combating false beliefs that threatened Christian unity. His efforts helped establish foundational Christian doctrines and maintain the integrity of the faith as it was passed down through apostles and tradition.
