St. Hildegard of Bingen

St. Hildegard of Bingen (1098–1179) was a German Benedictine abbess, visionary, and polymath. She experienced divine visions from a young age, which she documented in prophetic writings and artistic works. Hildegard was a pioneering thinker in medicine, natural science, and music, composing one of the earliest known musical works.
