He was instrumental in converting Armenia from paganism to Christianity, which led to Armenia becoming the world’s first officially Christian nation. Gregory was a skilled preacher, spiritual leader, and bishop who worked tirelessly to establish the church and promote Christian teachings. His efforts helped unify the Armenian people around their new faith and laid the foundation for the Armenian Apostolic Church, earning him the title "Illuminator" for his role in bringing enlightenment and spiritual awakening to Armenia.
