St. Anselm
St. Anselm was a medieval philosopher and theologian known for his work on understanding God through reason. His most famous idea, the ontological argument, suggests that if we can conceive of the greatest being—God—then that being must exist, because existing in reality is greater than existing only in the mind. Anselm believed that faith and reason work together to deepen understanding of God's nature. His approach helped shape later theological and philosophical discussions about existence, knowledge, and the divine.
