
St. Angela Merici
St. Angela Merici, born in 1470 in Italy, was a religious woman who dedicated her life to education and the care of young women. She founded the Company of St. Ursula, a religious community focused on teaching and nurturing girls, especially those from poorer backgrounds. Angela emphasized the importance of faith, virtue, and individual growth, encouraging women to lead meaningful lives through spiritual and educational pursuits. Her work helped pioneer modern approaches to education and women's roles within the Church. She was canonized as a saint in 1807 and is remembered for her compassionate service and dedication to empowering women through knowledge and faith.
