
Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu
Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu (1486-1534) was a prominent Indian saint and religious leader known for popularizing the Gaudiya Vaishnavism tradition, which emphasizes devotion to the Hindu god Krishna. He taught the importance of love and devotion (bhakti) through singing, chanting (sankirtan), and communal worship. Mahaprabhu is considered an incarnation of Krishna by his followers. His teachings stressed the universality of divine love and encouraged a devotional lifestyle, appealing to both the learned and the common people.
