Sporadic ALS

Sporadic ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) is a neurological disease that gradually destroys nerve cells responsible for controlling voluntary muscles, leading to muscle weakness, loss of motor function, and eventually paralysis. Unlike familial ALS, which is inherited, sporadic ALS occurs randomly with no clear genetic cause. The exact reason for its development is unknown, but it may involve a combination of genetic, environmental, and cellular factors. Symptoms typically begin in the limbs or speech muscles and worsen over time, significantly impacting daily life. There is no cure, but treatment aims to manage symptoms and improve quality of life.
