Spoornet
Spoornet is the former freight division of South Africa's national railway company, responsible for transporting goods across the country by train. It operated a large network of rail lines used to move commodities like minerals, agricultural products, and manufactured goods efficiently and cost-effectively. Spoornet played a key role in supporting South Africa’s economy by ensuring the reliable and large-scale movement of freight over long distances. In 2008, Spoornet was rebranded as part of Transnet Freight Rail, continuing its focus on freight transportation within the broader Transnet national transportation company.
