Spoken Language Understanding
Spoken Language Understanding (SLU) is technology that enables computers to interpret and make sense of spoken words. It combines speech recognition (transcribing spoken words into text) with language comprehension (understanding the meaning and intent behind those words). SLU allows voice assistants, customer service bots, and other devices to respond appropriately, by recognizing what is being said and determining the context or action needed. Essentially, it bridges the gap between human speech and machine response, making interactions more natural and efficient.
