Splenic Ultrasound

A splenic ultrasound is a non-invasive imaging test that uses sound waves to create pictures of the spleen, an organ located in your upper left abdomen. It helps doctors evaluate the spleen’s size, shape, and internal structure to diagnose conditions such as infections, blood disorders, or injuries. The procedure is painless, involving no radiation, and typically takes about 30 minutes. During the exam, a technician moves a device called a transducer over your abdomen to send and receive sound waves, which are then turned into detailed images for medical assessment.
