Sperm

Sperm are the male reproductive cells responsible for fertilizing an egg to potentially result in pregnancy. They are tiny, streamlined cells produced in the testicles, containing genetic material from the father. Sperm are designed for mobility, with a tail that helps them swim through the female reproductive tract to reach the egg. During ejaculation, millions of sperm are released in semen, a fluid that provides nutrients and protection. Successfully fertilizing the egg involves sperm navigating the reproductive system and penetrating the egg's outer layer, combining genetic material from both parents to start the development of an embryo.
