Speech-Language Pathology (SLP)

Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) is a clinical profession focused on assessing, diagnosing, and treating communication and swallowing disorders. Speech-language pathologists work with individuals of all ages who have difficulties with speech sounds, language comprehension, voice, fluency, or swallowing. They develop personalized treatment plans to improve communication skills and enhance quality of life. SLPs collaborate with families, educators, and healthcare teams to support clients in overcoming challenges caused by speech delays, stuttering, speech or language delays, neurological conditions, or injury. Their goal is to facilitate effective communication and safe swallowing for their clients.
