Species insecta
Insecta, or insects, are a large group of animals within the animal kingdom characterized by having a three-part body (head, thorax, abdomen), six legs, and usually one or two pairs of wings. They are incredibly diverse, making up the largest class of animals on Earth, with over a million identified species. Insects play vital roles in ecosystems as pollinators, decomposers, and sources of food for many other animals. They live in almost every environment, from forests to deserts, and have complex behaviors and adaptations that have allowed them to thrive globally.
