Special Committee on Decolonization (C-24)
The Special Committee on Decolonization (C-24) is a group established by the United Nations to support former colonies transitioning to independence and self-governance. Comprising 24 member states, it works to help these territories achieve full self-determination, address issues related to decolonization, and promote political, social, and economic development. The committee monitors progress, offers technical assistance, and advocates for the rights of indigenous peoples and those living in non-self-governing territories. Its goal is to ensure that all peoples have the opportunity to freely determine their political status and pursue their economic, social, and cultural development.
