Special Boat Teams

Special Boat Teams (SBTs) are specialized units within the U.S. Navy responsible for operating, maintaining, and supporting a variety of small, fast boats used for covert missions, special operations, and transportation. These teams are highly trained in tactics such as stealth navigation, underwater demolition, and reconnaissance to carry out missions like insertion and extraction of special forces, surveillance, and interdiction. Their skills enable them to operate in challenging environments, often behind enemy lines or in areas where larger ships can’t go, making them a vital component of naval special operations.
