Speaker's role
The Speaker of the House is the leader of the U.S. House of Representatives. They manage meetings, ensure that laws are debated and voted on properly, and represent the House in official duties. The Speaker also plays a significant role in setting legislative priorities, assigning committees, and guiding the overall direction of the House’s work. Additionally, they are second in line to succeed the President if needed. In essence, the Speaker acts as the primary spokesperson and organizer for the members of the House, helping facilitate the legislative process efficiently.
