spastic diplegia
Spastic diplegia is a form of cerebral palsy primarily affecting muscle control in the legs and lower body. It occurs due to damage or abnormal development of the brain’s motor regions, leading to increased muscle tone and stiffness, which can cause difficulty in movement, walking, and coordination. People with this condition may have tight muscles, balance challenges, and may walk on their toes or with a stiff gait. Despite these challenges, many individuals maintain normal intelligence and can improve their mobility with therapy and assistive devices.
