Span of Attention
The "Span of Attention" refers to the amount of information or the number of items a person can process and focus on at one time. It's like a mental window that limits how much data we can actively handle without becoming overwhelmed. For example, when someone tries to remember a phone number or follow a complex conversation, their span of attention determines how much they can keep in mind simultaneously. This capacity varies among individuals and can be improved with practice, but typically, humans can comfortably maintain focus on about 3 to 7 pieces of information at once.
