SpaceX Inspiration4
Inspiration4 was a groundbreaking space mission launched by SpaceX in September 2021, marking the first all-civilian crew to orbit Earth. The mission aimed to demonstrate that private citizens, without professional astronaut training, could safely travel to space. The crew stayed aboard a SpaceX Crew Dragon spacecraft for three days, orbiting at about 575 kilometers altitude—higher than the International Space Station. Funding and awareness were raised for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The success of Inspiration4 showcased advancements in commercial spaceflight, expanding access beyond professional astronauts and inspiring broader participation in space exploration.
