Spacetime Singularities

Spacetime singularities are points in the universe where the fabric of space and time becomes infinitely curved and the laws of physics as we know them break down. They are often associated with black holes, where matter collapses to an extremely dense state. At a singularity, quantities like density and gravity become infinite, making current physics unable to describe what happens there. Essentially, a singularity marks a boundary of our understanding, indicating that new physics, possibly from a theory of quantum gravity, is needed to fully explain these extreme environments.
